Sixth grade is a pivotal time for our students as they prepare for the challenges of Junior High School. Our task is to get them ready for this transition. Through a rigorous course of study and close attention to the individual needs of all our students, the sixth grade instructional team strives to produce students who are able to demonstrate knowledge of key concepts, principles, processes, facts, and skills in the disciplines of:
Language Arts
Social Science
Mathematics
Science
Physical Education
Visual and Performing Arts
Health/Practical Living Skills
In addition, we will be working hard to get all students to be able to:
Effectively communicate through listening, speaking, and writing
Demonstrate strong research skills
Have the ability to integrate knowledge across disciplines
Read with understanding
Apply critical and creative thinking to solve problems
Use technology to enhance their learning
